"Running hard rivers is always where the main focus will be because that's where it all comes from and that's where it's all going." -Chuck Kern, 1997 For many, this statement defines the essence of this sport. The practice of paddling hard rivers should be a deliberate undertaking with the right amount of "know how" and common sense.
You have been paddling Class 3 rivers with confidence. You have a solid River Roll on one side and you have to use it sometimes on Class 3 runs. You feel gripped on Class 4 drops and rivers but you can still focus enough to make a few moves and stay in control-most of the time. If this sounds like you and you would like to be taken to the next level, then the Class 5 Clinic is for you. When you finish this class, you will leave with a comprehensive evaluation of your ability and a custom designed Skill Set and Goals for you to continue working on when the class is over. This course was developed with input from the following professional kayakers:
John Kern Willie Kern Tao Berman Derek Beitler Arnd Schaeftlein Nikky Kelly Scott Lindgren
